I've been a professional artist for 13 years. The first six was as a commercial artist and the second seven is tattooing. I specialize in custom and freehand. I also love to do Japanese art. In my 13 years of experience i have learned many different styles of art and love them all. I see each customer as a challenge to try and see what they are seeing and translate that into tattoo format. So come by and let me put your thoughts on skin at Altered Images tattoo studio.

Joe has several hobbies with which he' s passionate but the breeding and care of American Pit Bull Terriers is at the top of his list of enjoyable pastimes. You can see the twinkle in his eyes when he talks about his dogs. They are truly his friends. He also practices Southern Shaolin Kung Fu. Joe's also one of the area best foosball players though he doesn't play as often as he used to.

Jason was born in San Luis Obispo, California in January of 1974 and moved to South Lake Tahoe, California at age 3. Jason always loved to draw as a child and that interest in drawing and art continued to flourish after graduating from George Whittell High School in 1992. After receiving his first tattoo from his good friend and mentor, Josh Collins, Jason decided to try tattooing and immediately fell in love with the medium. With help and influence from Josh, Jason began tattooing in 1994 and has been a full time tattoo artist since. Jason moved to Austin, Texas on a whim in 1995 and went to work tattooing at the old XO!!#... on South Congress before cutting his teeth for the infamous Steve Sailors at Custom Tattoos from the Soul on 6th Street in down town Austin. After nearly three years in Austin, Jason and his soon to be wife, Lisa Malone, moved to Southern California to be closer to Jason’s family. In Orange County California, Jason went to work at Aces High Tattoo in Fullerton, C.A. for Todd Heying. Jason worked at Aces High for exactly ten years where he worked almost exclusively on large, free hand tattoos. After wedlock to his beautiful and supportive wife Lisa in July of 1999, Jason took the leap into higher education and began art school in 2000 at the Laguna College of Art and Design where he earned his Bachelors Degree of Fine Arts, Cum Laude. It was there where he was classically trained to oil paint, another medium he loves and still pursues to this day. In 2006 Jason and his wife Lisa moved to Wichita Falls, Texas where Lisa was born and raised. After working for Jeff Brown at Hold Fast Tattoos in Dallas, Jason now works at Altered Images Tattoo in Wichita Falls where he prefers tattooing large, custom, imaginative tattoos on clients who appreciate truly fine tattooing. His major influences are frame twisting, earth turning fuel altereds from the sixties, the smell of nitro in the morning, the paintings of Peter Paul Rubens, and his father, Bob. Jason’s oil paintings have shown at prestigious art galleries including the Corey Helford Gallery in Los Angeles, The Think Space in L.A., Modern in Palm Springs, Skeleton art in Santa Fe, The Toy room in Sacramento, and Grand Central Arts in Santa Ana among others. His paintings and tattoos have been seen in Juxtapoz, Skin Art, Skin and Ink, Tattoos for Men, Tattoo Revue, Tattoos for Women, Tabu Tattoo, Savage, Truck Builder, and National Dragster. Jason’s work was also seen in a book entitled “100 Artists See Satan” which was published by Last Gasp. Jason would like to give special thanks to his wife Lisa, Gene and Tone Clothier, Todd Heying, and everyone else who has encouraged and supported him along the way, you know who you are.
